

Born on Sept 5, 1935 in Romania, it was there she met the love of her life, her husband Aurela, and the two immigrated to New York more than 50 years ago. Together they built a wonderful life and raised two beautiful daughters.Maria worked as a clerk for over 30 years before moving to the Chicago area to be closer to her family. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and especially visiting her homeland of Romania whenever she had the opportunity.
More than anything, Maria loved her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children and six grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. Her kindness, strength, and loving nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aurel Pantea, and her parents, Ioan Mester and Anna Mester.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Lia (Mozher) and Daniela (Robert); her cherished grandchildren, Amira ,Nawaf, Sufian, Amanda, Christina, and John; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Maria's love for her family, her adventurous spirit, and the many memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A funeral will be held at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016, US, on July 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by entombment at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016, US, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
