Marianne Saas

Marianne Valerie Saas passed away peacefully at her home in Arlington Heights on Monday, May 11, 2026 following complications from a stroke. She was born on November 4, 1930 in Chicago IL, the daughter of Michael and Susan Lieskovec.

Marianne was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gordon Philip Saas. She is survived by her children Nancy (Randall) Smith and Diane (Peter) Till. She was the proud Nana of Laurie (Ben) Conley, Katie (Greg) Marrs, David Smith, Sarah (Brian) Munin and nine great-grandchildren: Henry, Nora, Amelia, and Evelyn Marrs; Alice, Finn, and Will Conley; and Gwen and Charlie Munin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marianne was a long time member of Our Lady of the Wayside Parish, the Arlington Heights Garden Club, and Arlington Heights Senior Center. Travel was her passion. Marianne and Gordon traveled the world together, visiting six of the seven continents and creating lifelong memories and friendships along the way. She was also a devoted gardener who spent countless hours tending her flower beds.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral Mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights. Interment will be private.
