Marie A. Erickson

Marie A. Erickson passed away on November 22, 2023, in Glenview, Illinois. She was born on October 4, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Lilly Anderson.

She is survived by her children Larry (Kim) Erickson and Lori (Tom) Poelking; and her grandchildren Joshua (Krystin) Erickson, John (Elise) Poelking, Matthew Erickson, Ellen (Tim) McCann, and Luke Potnick.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Val Erickson. Val and Marie loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Their lives were full of laughter and joy. It was important to each of them that people felt kindness. They shared a deep Christian faith and were devoted to the Swedish Covenant Church. In addition to her strong faith and loving family, Marie was passionate about her life’s work as a registered nurse as well as her many years as a highly skilled pianist and organist. Her music, her bright smile and her deep sense of gratitude will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A visitation will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 9:00am until time of the Memorial Service at 10:00am at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, Blue Island, IL 60406.
