Marie Virginia Gasey

Of Arlington Heights

Virginia Gasey was born on March 25, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to Patrick and Briget (nee Colleran) Healy. She died Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at her home.

Earlier in her life Mrs. Gasey was a newspaper and magazine journalist. She was a member of Dunton Questers and an active member of St. James Catholic Church where she participated in the Guild, Choir, and many small faith groups. She was also an avid world traveler and a long time member of an Arlington Heights women’s golf league.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Michael (Dr. Barbara Tomcko) Gasey, Patrick (Mary Burtle) Gasey, and Arthur A. (Lynne) Gasey; her grandchildren, Sharon (Martin Kroon) Tomcko, Monica Gasey, Lisa (Will Chaney) Tomcko, Brian (Rachel Boldt) Gasey, Sara (Jordan Nied) Gasey, Arthur P. Gasey, Alexander Gasey; her great grandchild, Linnéa Rose Kroon; and her sister, Therese Genevieve (Donald) Rumann and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Gasey; her parents; and her brothers, John (Mary Ann) and Patrick (Margaret) Healy.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers 9:15 am, Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
