Marilee J Cripe

Marilee was born on March 1st, 1933, in Minnesota to Harriet (nee Hanson) and Walter Zachman. She graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota majoring in Biology. In September of 1955 she married Lawrence (Skip) Cripe, and they went on to have 7 children, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was a long time and active member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights serving as Eucharistic minister, Women’s Guild, coordinator of the Christmas and Easter Bazaars, and loved attending, with family, the annual Jubilation fundraiser. She was a member of a monthly book club and enjoyed her weekly outings with her “Butterfly” girls’ group.

Loving mother and wife, she is preceded in death by husband Lawrence Cripe and sons Stephen (Mary Kaye) Cripe and Timothy Cripe. She is survived by children Thomas (Patti) Cripe, Susan (David) von Winckler, John (Emily) Cripe, Sara Marrero, and Daniel (Meghan) Cripe; grandchildren Kailyn, Jake, Joe, Sam, Lauren, Matthew, James, Paul, Jane, Alex, Andy, and Dylan Cripe, Ben Marrero and her 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday February 17, 2025, from 3-8pm at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd in Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said Tuesday February 18 at around 9:30 AM at the funeral home and proceed to St. James Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:00am. Interment will be at S. Michael’s the Arch Angel in Palatine.
