

Marilyn Jane Durham of Arlington Heights was born on November 08,1934 to the late Clifford and Rosaline (nee Thompson) Heckert, and passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 at The Moorings of Arlington Heights surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late William (Jim) Durham; loving mother to Kathy (Dave) Pedersen, Jim (Carol) Durham and Lori (Paul) Breen; dear grandmother to Christopher (Diana) Pedersen, Jeff (Anna) Pedersen, Colleen (Kyle) Morgan, Jimmy (Elizabeth) Durham, Patrick (Nora) Durham, Kelly (Steven) Cavalieri and Joe Breen; fond great grandmother to Julia, Sophia, Elizabeth, Emily, Estelle, JT, Henry, George, Cooper, Jolene, Jack, Jonathan, Nicholas and Mia; and dear sister to Judy (Dale) Wietzke, and the late Charlene (Tom) Loftus. She will be missed dearly.
In 1954 Marilyn married her loving husband and they lived in his boyhood home on the southeast side of Chicago. In 1968 they moved their family to Arlington Heights. Marilyn was first and foremost a woman of tremendous faith with great devotion for Jesus and his mother, Mary. She loved traveling, reading, gardening and ice cream; but her greatest love was spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were a constant source of pride, joy and comfort for her and she loved them all very much.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The funeral mass will start at 10:00 AM at St. Edna’s. Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Marilyn’s name to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe or to Mercy Home.
