Of Mt. Prospect
Marge Nisbet was born on August 11, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri to Glenn and Mary (nee Retherford) Carroll. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Emerald Place in Glenview, IL.
Marge was a proud Mother who devoted her time and energy to raising her four children. She spent much of her time running them around to every activity there was. She was very involved with her children’s school years as the “Room Mom”, a learning center aide, or a cheerleader on the sidelines. When her children grew older, her support did not waiver. She never missed a birthday celebration or an opportunity to check in on everyone. She was their biggest fan and a true matriarch in every possible way.
When everyone was in high school and college she entered into the workforce and enjoyed her job as an office manager for Promotion Activators. Her love for family continued as Marge treasured and supported her 10 Grandchildren in everything they did. She was a fixture at all of their sporting, religious, and milestone events. She will be lovingly remembered as a highly social Bridge, Bunco, & Bingo player, engaging conversationalist, and much to the chagrin of her Missouri Family, a devoted Cubs fan.
Marge is survived by her children, Chris (Amy Philpott), Cam (Cindy), Laurie (Paul) Mitchell, and Tim; her grandchildren Ashton, Heather, and Ryan Nisbet, Emily, Brent, Jeffrey, and Conor Mitchell, Arleigh, Gigi, and Marji Nisbet; and her brother, Roger (Joyce) Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Nisbet; and her parents.
