Mark McGovern was born on December 18, 1963 in Oak Park, Illinois to Robert and Jane (nee Butler) McGovern. He died Friday, August 11, 2017 in Chicago.
Mark McGovern was a University of Notre Dame graduate; he served as a naval lieutenant on the USS Will Rogers nuclear submarine; and received his law degree from George Mason University. He worked for the Illinois Department of Employment Services for over 10 years.
Mark is survived by his siblings, Gregory McGovern, Claudia (Michael) Venhuizen, and Paul McGovern; nieces and nephew, Matthew, Erin and Mallory McGovern; and Robert McGovern’s life partner Nancy Gramarosso.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass, 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment is at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
