Mary “Mimi” Ellsworth passed suddenly and peacefully on October 22, 2022, in her hometown of Prospect Heights, IL. Mimi was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and treasured friend to more people than we can possibly name. Her friendships were lifelong, and she was an integral part of many families’ lives.
Mimi enjoyed spending time with friends and family making happy, sweet memories. She adored all the children in her life and made each one feel uniquely special and loved. She raised many children that thought of her as a mother and her home was adorned with their photos. Mimi always had a child’s car seat in her automobile for babysitting duty, freshly baked brownies in her kitchen for visits and the most thoughtful little gifts at the ready for all of her kids. On Mother’s Day, her house was always overflowing with flowers, cards and presents.
Mimi enjoyed baking, cooking and telling funny stories. Her social calendar was always full, and she was constantly on the go. She truly lived a selfless life with her focus always being on others. We will always remember Mimi for her contagious laugh, smart wit and unconditional love.
Mimi is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marian Ellsworth, who were waiting for her with open arms when she was called home. Mimi is survived by her siblings Richard (Danuta) Ellsworth, Patrick Ellsworth and Anne (Marek Wierzba) Ellsworth; her niece Olivia Ellsworth, nephew Alex Wierzba and by many loving friends and extended family.
