

The funeral for Mary C. Fasth, 80, will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, proceeding to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, at the funeral home. Born Dec. 27, 1930, in Long Lake, MN, Mary died Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in Arlington Heights. Mary was the loving wife of the late Herbert E. Fasth; loving mother of Thomas E. (Beverley) of Charlotte, N.C., David H. (Janice) of Arlington Heights, James B. of Mt. Prospect, and William J. (Becky) of Corvallis, OR; cherished grandmother of Emily, Lauren, Jami, Eric and Nicholas; dear sister of Alice (Richard) Pike, George Rettinger and Paul (Dianne) Rettinger and the late Joe Rettinger, and beautiful daughter of Hawthorne Rettinger and Cecilia Cummers. Mary received a degree in Medical Technology from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, as well as a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from DePaul University. She practiced individual counseling both privately and through St James Church for many years. She was known for her loving support, desire to continually learn, fun and laughter. She developed a strong network of friends over fifty years of living in the community. She will be sorely missed by those whose lives she touched.
