Mary L. Levecke

Mary L. Levecke passed away on May 17, 2024, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was born on July 3, 1953, in Oak Park, Illinois to Charles and Mary Levecke.

She is survived by her siblings Chuck (Bonnie) Levecke, Terry (Dave) Ryan, her nieces and nephews Chuck (Katarzyna) Levecke, Jennifer (Sean) Nagel, Danielle (Alex) Green, Quinn Ryan, Casey (César Rodarte) Ryan, Madison Levecke and Susan Levecke and 6 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents. She is at peace after a lenghty battle with breast cancer and vein disease.

Mary was fiercely independent. She had an adventurous streak in her younger days, skiing the back bowls of Summit County in Colorado, hiking peaks in the Rockies and enjoying the outdoors while she lived in Denver. Her career in banking also took her to live in Baltimore, Virginia and St. Louis.

She missed her family deeply and eventually returned to the Northwest Suburbs. Mary was the primary caregiver for her mother during her final years. Her pet kitties filled her with joy. She was a loving sister and aunt to the many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She developed a close relationship with her primary caregiver, Jutta, and maintained lifelong friendships with Peg and Jean.

A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Illinois immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
