Maureen E. Carney

Of Arlington Heights

Maureen E. Carney was born May 18, 1937 in Evanston to James and Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Ludwig) Carney.  She died peacefully October 16, 2017 at her home in Arlington Heights.

She was a long-time employee of AT&T in their network systems division and remained friends with many of the people she met there.  Maureen had a warm and loving nature.  Her concern and genuine interest in others made everyone feel special and deeply cared about.  She loved her family and was a dear friend to many.  She was a special person who truly made the world a better place and she will be deeply missed. 

Maureen is survived by her sister Sheila M. (John) Gembra.  She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. 

Maureen is preceded in death by her brother James “Mike” Carney and by her parents. 

Memorial visitation Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of mass at 10:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.  Interment private.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 2151, 501st St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-2151.
