Maureen Elizabeth Pope

Born on September 30, 1949, in Chicago, IL, she was the cherished daughter of Parnell and Sally (nee Litviak) Murray. Maureen married the love of her life, Michael Pope, on September 16,1972, in Skokie Illinois. Together, they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family.

Whether exploring new corners of the world, nurturing her beautiful gardens, whipping up gourmet meals for family, or cheering on her grandkids, Maureen lived life with vibrant energy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Michael Pope; and brothers, Patrick Murray, John “Jack” Murray, and Ronald Murray.

Maureen is survived by her husband, Michael Pope; daughters, Kelly (Todd) Masson, Katie (Jonathan) Garrett, and Kortney (Kevin) White; grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Patrick, Lily, and Delaney; siblings, Carol Schulz and Parnell (Barbara) Murray. Maureen is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 10th, 2026, at St. James Church, 831 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
