Megan K. Blenner

Megan K. Blenner, age 27, was born on August 12, 1986, in Hoffman Estates to Tom and Peggy (nee DeWane) Blenner. She passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, as a result of a boating accident.Megan graduated from St.Viator High School in 2004 and was a member of the National Honor Society, basketball team, and the 2003 IHSA championship soccer team. She graduated from Carroll University in 2008 where she was an All-Academic and All-Conference player who competed in basketball and soccer winning the Midwest Conference Championship Tournaments in both sports. She studied at Northwestern and was working to complete her CPA certification. Megan began her career at Zurich North America in the associate program immediately upon graduating college learning the major areas of insurance in various locations throughout the states. Her most recent position at Zurich was that of a financial analyst. Megan"s various positions at Zurich allowed her to travel the world which she deeply treasured.Megan was a member of the Junior League of Chicago, the Illinois CPA society, and Zurich"s Women"s Innovation Network. She volunteered at PAWS in Lincoln Park, and other various charities. She was continually on the go personally and professionally satisfying her thirst for knowledge as an avid reader, helping others, and enjoying life. Megan loved to spend time with her family and friends, and was loved by all.Megan is survived by her parents, Tom and Peggy Blenner; sisters, Kelly and Jamie Blenner; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Lois Blenner of McHenry and Bernard and Arlene DeWane of Woodstock.Memorial Visitation Friday, July 11, 2014 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Funeral Mass Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
