It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” Edward Irizarry, who left us way too early. Mike was a truly unique soul who made everyone feel comfortable and accepted, free of judgment. Known for his goofy and loud personality, he could light up any room with laughter. A lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox, Mike’s loyalty never wavered, even as he jokingly turned his back on the team after another tough season.
Mike was an adventurer at heart, always eager to try something new, though he often found a way to rope his brother into handling anything too complicated. He had a deep love for riding his motorcycle. His love was especially strong with his beloved four-legged companion, Harley, by his side. Mike also found peace and inspiration in music, often getting lost in its rhythms and beats. Above all, family and friends were his greatest love and priority.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandfather Edward Vanscoy, father Albert Irizarry, and uncle Ronald Tarcak. He leaves behind a loving family, including his grandmother Dorothy Vanscoy, mother Sandra (Mark) Breshock, sister Maria T. Irizarry, brother Daniel Reyes-Irizarry, half-sister Maria F. Irizarry, nieces Amber and Abigail, nephews Harlan, David and Giancarlo, aunts and uncle Jeanne Tarcak and Barbara (Gary) Jaeger, cousins Jaime, Jessica, Brian, Andrew, as well as great-cousins Christian, Brody, Peyton, and Kane.
Mike’s infectious spirit and love for life will be missed by all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Mike by spending time with your loved ones, embracing adventure, and always remembering to laugh.
