With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael W. Organ of Arlington Heights, IL, who died at the age of 46 on March 31, 2025 following a very brief but valiant fight against angiosarcoma of the liver.
Mike was born September 6, 1978 the son of Tom and Ruth Organ, of Elk Grove Village. He is survived by his wife, Sara Organ, and their daughters, Ellie and Willa; parents, Tom and Ruth; brother, Matthew (Christie) Organ, nephews Jackson and Ted Organ; and his devoted fur friend, Izzy Oreo-S’mores Organ.
Some may remember Mike to have been a talented baseball player and teammate through his high school years. Others may have followed his musical career through his 20s, as the drummer for bands Joe Bigsley and Busted Bottle, notably playing a showcase at Chicago’s famed House of Blues. More recently Mike featured in his family’s house band, frequently laying down tracks for his daughters in their home music studio. Mike worked in construction management, raising several buildings contributing to the architectural landscape across the Chicagoland area. And as those in Chicago know, the greatest game ever played was on a Wednesday night in Cleveland. Being there with his brother Matt was one of his favorite memories. Mike’s proudest achievement was the family he built with his wife and daughters.
All who knew Mike knew him to be a good and honorable man of strong character and substance. He was known to live by the motto “If a thing’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.”
He was the kind of guy who did everything right.
Any memorial donations under his name may be made out to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Judes, organizations to which he regularly contributed.
