My name is Rocky I've known for Mike for approximately 42 years give or take a few years me and Chopper both first met Mike he played on a no-check team called the veterans and I played on a pucker's team in the polo we crossed pass we did some exhibition games and then after that Franklin Park check League I had a team in there and I recruited Mike and Gardner to play and then after that we did some Easter stuff some Easter skates and several different trips to the Eagle River Eagle River hockey things and then Mike played on my Stampede hockey team also and then most recently the Wednesday nights at Rolling Meadows me and Mike sat out with Gardner and Griffin and and spent the couple two or three Summers together doing that and besides that I haven't seen Mike in in a spell but he will be missed and just a long time that I spent with him and we're all going to miss him and I just wanted to say a few words

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing.  Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

My heart breaks for you and your entire family.  There are no words that can truly ease the pain and sadness you must be feeling right now.  I only hope that, with time, the light will begin to shine a little brighter for you and the family.

I worked with Mike for over 30 years, and he was an amazing trader, colleague and an all-around great guy. Mike would always find time to help execute a trade or take time to explain the best way to do so. His integrity, knowledge and friendship will be missed but never forgotten. We had many fun times together at Bears games with Mike Arrington, parties and celebrations. However, the most important part of Mike's life was his daughter Hope. He spoke so proudly and lovingly about her every time we were together and his love for her and Beth just shined through. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

Mike was a great man and a great friend.  Always had a fun and personable demeanor, and I will always remember him as a caring individual.  Came by my house in Wisconsin to see my newborn son Leo, who happened to have the same name as his father.  My condolences to Beth and his daughter Hope and family.

One of the great friends I've had in my life.  From 1st grade on he was loyal and true. We had a lot of laughs and shared everything.  What a guy. Miss you my brother.  Thanks for everything!

Mike,  you were my big brother’s best friend and  the one who was always so friendly and caring to me in our teenage years. You gave me permission to feel like I could hang out with you guys and made me feel like I was your friend too.

My fondest memory of Mike is seeing him with his closest friends, cruising the river on the boat, enjoying cocktails, and always wearing that unforgettable smile. He was the first to arrive and the last to leave any gathering. A truly great man and an even greater friend. Rest in peace, my friend. I am beyond saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. He was a solid foundation in the chaos of a trading day on the equity desk of NTSI. He took a personal interest in the lives of others - genuinely. Never made one feel intimidated or inferior if you needed help on a trading matter. He always came to see my performances in theatre was a huge advocate and really just a really good person. The love of his daughter Hope was always top of mind and was really always encouraged others to go beyond what they were capable of. I am truly so beyond grateful to have known him and had the privilege to work side by side for 17  years.

I’m so sorry to hear about Mike’s passing. He had such a love for hockey, and I was fortunate to play with him for many years. It was a privilege to skate with him and really get to know the man behind the game. Mike made me smile every time we took the ice together. He was a solid guy—on and off the ice—and he will be truly missed.

I so greatly enjoyed getting to skate with Mike on a weekly basis. The running commentary on the bench was a highlight of the night. It was a pleasure and an honor to get to know a wonderful man. You will be greatly missed!

I loved working with Mike. He made my time at Northern Trust brighter.  He was a collaborator and a great listener as we would talk through share repurchase trades.   He was incredibly kind and fun to be around.   What I also remember is how much he loved his daughter and spoke about her with the biggest twinkle in his eye.  I pray that will give her some comfort during an incredibly sad time.   I will hold tight  my positive memories of him and I am so thankful for the time we had together(6 years).  I  always made sure I visited him even after I changed roles. Love you Mike! Enjoy the rink up there!

I will truly miss my golfing/hockey buddy. Darce made us all smile with his sense of humor. The World is a bit less special without my friend Mike Rodell. I will miss him terribly. God bless him and his family.

One of my favorite memories of Mike was being able to start my morning by talking with him about the expectations for the stock market and the economy based on the latest news.  I always appreciated his market insight and trading expertise.  However my favorite memories were standing next to Mike at his trading turret and joking about a silly movie or TV commercial or ridiculous current event!  Mike had a great sense of humor and made work fun!

I will miss you Mike.

Why too soon old Friend!!!  Look forward to getting the Hilton Head Group together again in the afterlife where our Mulligans are the rule versus the expectation.  Until then...
