

Minnie Rose Rooney was born on September 12,1936, in Chicago, IL to Anton James and Minnie Matilda (nee Tresso) Berolatti. She died on September 2, 2023, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Minnie, was always referred to as Minnie Rose by her cousins, Aunts and Uncles while growing up. She was born and raised in South Chicago and attended Fenger High School. She was a Cubs fan at heart, but always stated that Sox games were easier to get to as the park was closer.
Minnie retired from Ingalls Memorial Hospital after 15 years as an assistant in the physical therapy department. She was known to her patients as the Whirlpool Lady. She gave whirlpool treatments to burn victim’s and patients with other injuries. She was very popular with her patients.
Minnie possessed a sharp sense of humor and had the ability to elicit laughter from everyone, thereby establishing fast friendships when Minnie and Jim retired to Elwood, Illinois. She always helped many Catholic causes, and she prayed the rosary every day with great devotion.
She loved to sew, color and make crafts. She was an avid reader as well.
Minnie Rose was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her warm heat and wonderful sense of humor.
Minnie is survived by her children Aileen (Michael) Koeppen, Kevin (Holly) Rooney and Lora (Scott) Polakow; her grandchildren Sean, Ian, and Padraic (Emily) Rooney as well as her great-granddaughter Beckett Meri Rooney.
She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Rooney, Jr., her parents, as well her brother Louis (Betty) Berolatti.
Services will be private. Inurnment will take place next to her husband James at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
