

Natalie was born on April 28, 1936 in Chicago, IL, to Peter Kosterka and Marion Kosterka. She graduated from Austin High School, attended Wright College for 2 years and was an executive secretary for many years.
Natalie married Richard Salat in 1957 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Chicago. The couple had 3 children, Laura, John and Michael.
Natalie was a life-long learner and took many classes at the Institute for Continued Learning at Roosevelt University. She sang in multiple choirs, including the Festival Chorus at Harper College, the Sounds Good Choir, the Church Choir at St Thomas of Villanova Church in Palatine, and the Chorus at The Moorings of Arlington Heights.
Natalie was an avid reader and active throughout her life, playing volleyball and tennis, attending the opera and going to plays, concerts and movies. She loved to play Scrabble, Words With Friends, Mexican Train and never missed doing the daily crossword. Most of all, she treasured her family and friends.
Natalie is survived by her daughter Laura (John) Wolowic of Camdenton, MO, son John (Diane) Salat of Winfield, IL, son Michael (Carolee) Salat of Gunnison, CO, grandchildren Alex (Lauren) Grieger of Mesa, AZ, Danielle (Jazzique) Connor of Nevis, West Indies, Brian (Abby) Salat of Chicago, IL, Kevin Salat of Seattle, WA, Joey Salat of Gunnison, CO, and great grandchildren Jazzelle, Skyla and Juden Connor, Cameron and Connor King, Addison and Silas Grieger and Connor Salat.
Natalie was preceded in death by her husband Richard Salat, father Peter Kosterka, mother Marion Kosterka, and brothers Donald Kosterka and Leon Kosterka.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6 at St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Palatine, IL, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The World Vision Ukraine Crisis Fund
