Paul grew up in Edison Park and attended Loyola Academy and Loyola University. He played hockey through his college days where chants of ‘put Brice on the ice’ were quite common. He worked at Richard Payne as a Manufacturers Rep for 41 years and was beloved by colleagues and clients alike.
Paul was a beloved husband of 43 years to Ann M. (Boesen). He was a loving father of three to Catherine (Edward) Bjes, Christine (Drew Nelson) Brice and Andrew (Nicole) Brice; cherished grandfather of Peter, Joseph, Cooper, Wyatt and Ole; dear brother of John (Sheila), Michael, Peter, William, Mark (Patricia) and James (Laura); fond brother-in-law of Thomas (Genny) Boesen, Katherine Boesen, Peter (Julie) Boesen, Elizabeth (Jeff) Wood and Joan (Rich) Fesl and devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Paul lived his life with patience, kindness, and humor. He was always willing to help a friend out and often volunteered to help coach his kids teams while they were growing up, which landed him the position of Assistant Athletic Director at Wayside. Paul was a Die Hard Cubs Fan, and would keep his own score when his family attended games, which he always told his kids that it was because it helped him pay better attention to the games. Paul was known for his famous chocolate cupcakes with generous icing and loved to bake. He could be found cutting the grass in casual collared shirts and boat shoes on Saturdays after playing 18 holes of golf before 10 am. Paul loved people and always knew how to make anyone he met feel welcome and appreciated. Paul fought early onset Alzheimer’s for the past 8 years which eventually took his life. He passed peacefully on June 22, 2022 surrounded by his family.
