

A longtime resident of Palatine, IL passed away on November 3, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Paul was born in Chicago on March 22, 1957 to Edward F. Wajda Sr. and Rosemary (nee Piesik) Wajda.
Paul is survived by his loving wife and best friend Gerry (nee Zeinz) of over 44 years, his brother Edward F. Wajda Jr., multiple Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was proceeded in death by both his parents and his brother John.
Paul grew up in Chicago with his parents and brothers living over his grandmother’s Bridal Shop. He was an altar boy at Holy Innocents. He went to Lane Tech High School and after studying at DeVry University he worked for Teletype, AT&T and NCR. He retired from NCR back in 2016 as an ATM technician. He would always say that he was “saving the world $20.00 at a time.”
Paul was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan. He loved cooking, his little brown truck and music from the 70’s and 80’s as well as Hawaiian music. His favorite places in the world were Maui, Hawaii and his own back yard.
He will be dearly missed.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday November 29, 2025 at Saint Thomas of Villanova in Palatine, IL. Visitation will start at 9:00 AM with the funeral mass to follow at 10:00 AM. Internment is private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
