Born on May 5, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Frank and Josephine (nee Russotto) Monestero, Philip lived a full and dedicated life. He proudly served in the United States Army, spending two years during the Korean War before returning home to build a life of service and achievement.
Philip devoted 36 years to a successful career with the phone company, earning the respect of his colleagues and community. Outside of work, he was a passionate gardener and a skilled DIY enthusiast. He took pride in his hands-on projects, from building a beautiful fireplace to remodeling his entire basement.
Philip's legacy of hard work, care, and creativity lives on in the lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife, Margarette (nee Tincher); children, Kenneth (Kathryn) Monestero, Linda (John) Brickwood, Patricia Monestero and Melissa (Keith) Kuczaj. Adoring grandfather to Kyle (Amanda) Monestero, Kalli (Steve) Brauer, Ashley Brickwood, Amanda Brickwood, Rebecca Rossen, Meghan Anthony, Julia Anthony and Jason Anthony. Dearest great-grandfather to Kaden Monestero, Levi Monestero, and Isabella Sanchez. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine (nee Olszewski) Monestero and parents.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Burial will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
