

Born on December 27, 1941, in Leganes, Iloilo, Philippines, she was the cherished daughter of Carlos and Soledad (nee Valencia) Dayon. Purita married the love of her life, Isauro Rivera, on May 08, 1971, in Chicago, IL. Together, they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family.
She was born in Iloilo, Philippines and came to the US for opportunities and a better life. She got a job at Cook County Hospital as a registered nurse and worked in various departments like the emergency room, surgery, and gastroenterology. She was very dedicated to everything she did, dedicated to her family as the first to come to the US and sponsor numerous siblings, family, and friends; she was a devoted Catholic and had a profound and unwavering faith in God and the church, and adored all of her grandkids. Her determination, resilience, and strength are just a few of her qualities that made her the most special wife, mother, grandmother, lola, and caring person.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Perla, Romualdo, and Romeo.
Purita is survived by her husband, Isauro Rivera; children, Jeff (Nicole), Norman (Megan), and Vince (Jenny); grandchildren, Colin and Rafael “Rafi” Rivera, Eloise, Mila, Beatrice, Reid, Gracyn, and Nolan; siblings, Rodolfo, Patria, Julie, Ruben, and Rufino. Purita is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, at St. Raymond de Penafort Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Rt. 83) & Lincoln St., Mount Prospect, IL 60056, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine, IL.
