This morning I learned that Uncle Dick passed away. I pulled up my last email from him which was May 10, 2012 while Scott & I were out of the country. I will miss him and his funny jokes he used to send me. Uncle Dick & Aunt Gloria were my favorites especially when I was a little girl. So thankful to have visited them for lunch a few years ago. He loved his family very much and especially his grandchildren. So sorry for your loss. We all have wonderful memories.

Our heart goes out to the Amundsen family. Richard was my mother's (Carole) 1st cousin. My husband and I are both retired Air Force members as of 2011. I have such respect for his dedication to his country, and of course, his dear wife, Gloria. Thank you, Richard, for your selfless service and for enriching our lives so much with your humor and kindness. You will be missed. With much love, Angela and John Dereix, Williamsburg, VA

Our heart goes out to the Amundsen Family on the passing of such a wonderful man. Dick was our neighbor for over 20 years and was always so kind and cheerful. Our children grew up around him and he was so patient and kind to them as well. Heaven has another angel looking down upon your family.

Our sincere condolences to the Amundsen family. Dickie was one of the good guys and a true hero the way he cared for Gloria. His emails were a treat whether they were jokes or a warm story of a time with Gloria. He was always friendly and introduced us to many wonderful people. He'll be missed.

"Dickie" - how sad we are that you are gone - but - we will always have our memories of golf at Mangrove Bay, our dinners at Cody's, our many phone conversations and the many visits to your garage in Florida to always find the tool needed to finish the job. Rest in peace. You were a wonderful husband. Love Bill and Jayne Sass

Dick & Gloria have been a wonderful part of our Winters in Florida. Enjoyed golfing with Dick & his great sense of humor. He always had a new joke, or two, or three . . . . OR MORE!! We'll miss you Dickie.
