Richard B. CarpenterOf Arlington HeightsRichard B. Carpenter was born on July 11, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to Alfred and Dorothy (nee Buzby) Carpenter. He died Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Arlington Heights.Richard worked as a Telephone Installation and Repair Technician for Centel and ATT in Des Plaines. He was the Freshman Bowling Coach at Prospect High School for many years, also a long time coach and manager in the AHYAA Program. Richard was an avid bowler and a member of the American Bowling Congress. He reached the pinnacle of a "Perfect Game of 300" in 1985. Richard had an affinity for his Duncan yo-yo receiving many awards and winning many titles in his younger days. He was an avid sports fan who excelled at baseball in his youth and maintained his love for the Philadelphia Phillies throughout his lifetime. His youngest granddaughter Kaylee Rose was so special to him. He lit up every time she walked through the door and she never hesitated jumping on his lap through any circumstance. They were best friends with their own special language. He loved to spend time with his family, grandchildren, and was loved by all.Richard is survived by his spouse of 34 years, Kimberly (nee Bialkowski); children, Deborah Grant, Richard B. Carpenter, Jr., Jeffrey Carpenter, Rachel (Eric) Ponce, Michelle (Fiance Chris Kaelin) Carpenter; grandchildren, Megan (Dan) Timmons, Michael Grant, Erin Grant, Tyler Grant, Jacob Grant, Zachary Carpenter, Kloe Carpenter, Kacey Carpenter, Bradley Carpenter, Amy Carpenter and Kaylee Kaelin; siblings, Beatrice (Duane Barnes) Young, Barry (Ann) Carpenter, Dotti Ellis, Barbara (Matthew) Rezmer, and Jack (Lynne) Carpenter; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL. Funeral Service 10:00 am, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.
