He died Friday, January 15, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois.Mr. Reckert was a plant accountant for Commonwealth Edison for 43 years before retiring. He served in the Army during WW II. Richard enjoyed coin collecting.He is survived by his children Pat Gancarz, Tom (Suzie) Reckert, and Carrie (Chris) Mahnke; his grandchildren, Jenny, Mike, Ashley, Lauren, David, Kevin, Ellie and Adam; his great grandchildren, Matt, Mandy, Grant, Owen, Parker, Hayes, Barrett, Reid and Caroline; and his brother, John (Gloria) Reckert.Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; his parents; his siblings Adeline Reckert, Mary Cannon, Agnes Fischer, Bernard Reckert, and Francis Reckert; and his son-in-law Rick Gancarz.Visitation from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois and Wednesday at Addolorata Villa, 555 McHenry Road, Wheeling, Illinois from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM.
