Robert J. BrawleyOf Arlington HeightsRobert J. Brawley was born on November 25, 1923 in Chicago, to John and Noreen (nee Doherty) Brawley. He died peacefully Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his home.Bob proudly worked at Motorola for 52 years, traveling extensively managing and constructing its global manufacturing facilities. He was an inaugural member of the Schaumburg Chamber of Commerce and served as its president for several years. He and Nora were founding members of St. Emily"s Church in Mt. Prospect where he established the youth basketball program in addition to many other areas where he volunteered. Bob was an avid golfer with a hole in one in August of 1961 followed by the birth of his favorite son Mark nine months later. He served in the Army during WW II as a radio operator until his honorable discharge in 1943.Robert"s survivors include his children Jack (Mary Karen) of Burlington, WI, Mike (Marybeth) of Arlington Heights, Kathy (Kevin) Cavanagh of Naperville and Mark (Christine) of Arlington Heights; his grandchildren, Katie, Michael (Kelly) Brawley, Nora (Kevin) Kessler, Meredith Brawley, Faith (Erin) O"Tool, Claire (Adam) Essman, Anne, Tricia and Kevin Brawley, Brian (Nicki), Matthew (Emily), Patrick (Rachel) Cavanagh and Jennifer (Brogen) Gabel, Sara and Sean Brawley; and his great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his wife, Nora; his sons, Robert M. and Thomas; his brother Jack and his sister Sr. Ann Kathleen Brawley.Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N.
