

He was born in Chicago, in 1956, to Edward Plesniak and Dorothy Goralska. Robert’s love for golf and construction stemmed from the time he spent with his father growing up. Robert and Dorothy bonded over their love of hockey, especially the Chicago Blackhawks. The ‘Two Step Inn’ is where he had some of his earliest memories, working closely with his parents. Thus, instilling a love of hard honest work within him. As a family, they enjoyed many vacations together. He attended Morton West High School prior to jumpstarting his construction career. Through construction, he would eventually meet his wife, Terri.
Bob met the love of his life, Terri, in June of 1976, on the steps of her childhood home. He was working with her father, renovating a house in their neighborhood. He would often say that it was love at first sight, he had found his true soulmate. The two were married at St. Raymond’s Church in Mount Prospect, on May 19th, 1985.
Bob and Terri would then go on to have 4 daughters, Kristen, Marisa, Lauren, and Julia. Growing up, they quickly inherited his love of sports through bike riding, swimming, golfing and walking their family dogs together. Some of their favorite memories came from just spending time at home; watching movies, playing board games, and laughing at his never ending jokes. Some of Terri’s fondest memories were after the birth of each baby, when Bob would get a pizza and a coke for them to share together in the hospital.
Being a grandfather was a natural transition for Bob. He loved spending time with his grandson, Luca. Whether it was going to the zoo or running around the house with him, Bob treasured their time together.
Bob’s love for animals, especially dog’s, started at a very young age. He would come home to 4 furry family members, Willy, Ginger, Chip and Rosie. His love of all animals was a testament of his sense of nurturing and compassion towards others.
Bob was a friend to all. Making and keeping friends came easily to him. He was very approachable and easy to talk to. He was the definition of a good and trustworthy friend. He always made time for anyone.
Through his years in construction, he became a master craftsman, being able to build something out of nothing. He shared his knowledge through the guidance and mentoring of others through the years, always wanting to teach and share his expertise.
Bob had many hobbies and interests, including softball, golf, cooking, music, drawing and woodworking. He loved the challenge of learning something new. With determination he was able to accept any uncertainties and solve any problems that came his way.
Bob will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion towards others. His sense of humor and positive outlook would always make any situation easier. Bob’s legacy to his children was to be confident and have no regrets in life. He lived everyday to the fullest.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, mother, step mother Lorraine, father in law Jozef, mother in law Zofia and other extended family members. He is survived by his wife Terri, their four daughters, Kristen, Marisa, Lauren, and Julia, his son in law Piotr, his grandson Luca and other extended family.
Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Dr, Palatine, IL 60074 with committal prayers to immediately follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067.
