I though of  BOB last sunday at mass  the feast of ASCENSION,because Bob could not keep straight the Asumption and theAscension. I would go in his office and say "Bobby Joe" which is right 
Ascension or Asummption on monday following the feast.
I will rember Bob and the rest of the family at mass and communion sunday 5/28.

Dearest Carol, Michael, Brian, and your amazing family!! There are not enough accolades to describe how wonderful Bob was!! Like most of Bob's  friends we go back almost 50 + years!! In all those years he was always the same caring, kind, and helpful  friend! 
Our whole family was completely devastated hearing Bob passed away!! He were so loved by all who had the honor to know him!! 
 Mr. Fixit was another gift that he possessed! He could do it all!!
We hated to lose you, but you passed so peacefully in your sleep, this was hard on  all left behind, but so merciful, and with the greatest dignity he so richly deserved!

Bob was a Great Man. We have been friends for 60 years.  Bob and I met in college (CBC, Memphis)  as freshman. Many good  times were had over our 4 college years.  We attended each other’s  weddings , our growing families became very close enjoying many good times in Chicago, Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Las Vegas.  Even over the course of many years  we lived far across the country Carol and Chris are best friends, Mike and Bill are best friends and our children and grandchildren got on well. 

We are very sorry for the Spotak Clan’s  loss of Bob; we too will miss him.  Let’s all remember the Good Times we shared.

Dearest Carol and Family,

Sam told us of Bob's passing 2 days ago and we were so saddened at this terrible news.  We cannot get you and Bob off of our minds.  We have not known you and Bob like all those close friends from years and years ago, but we were very fond of you two.

You made such a BEAUTIFUL couple.  Always so happy,  so funny and all about family.  You're always so good to Noelle and Dave's children.

We loved seeing both of you at the Serio functions.  You're close family to them and we grew to love you too.  

We feel so bad for Bob, missing out on more years with you and the children and grandchildren.  And we feel extremely sad for you missing him every minute of every day.  Your love was on full display whenever we saw you.

We all have faith that God will come through  for you and provide the strength for you to experience joy again.  As Sam always says, He has a day and time reserved for each of us.  Now that we are all in our seventies it is becoming apparent that our heavenly home is around the corner.

We just want you to know that we love beautiful you and feel your pain so deeply.

Bob was a great friend and a pleasure to be around. I played many rounds of golf with Bob and enjoyed every shot. I remember one round with Bob, I hit a great drive, as we approached our balls Bob had out driven me  by about ten yards. As we walked up, I said "I thought I hit a great drive". Bob looked over smiled and said "you did" .  He will really be missed.  

Dearest Carol,
You know how much we love you and Bob.  Bob had a big heart and his passing has left a hole in our hearts.  He lived his life to the fullest right till the end.  We will miss him dearly.
Our wish and prayer would be that Bob could have beat this condition.  He tried everything possible and kept going daily no matter how he felt.  What a guy and a great cook too!
Gary and Bob had a lot in common as fellow Bohemians and co-workers at Amoco.  Bob and Gary would laugh about the good ole' days.  They both enjoyed staying fit and being Mr. Fix It.  Bob was a very smart man.
It's comforting to know our dear Lord and Steve have welcomed Bob home.

I have many fond memories of Bob- but I will never forget watching homemade videos at the Spotak’s house.  We all loved  the video of us playing on a dirt hill.   Since I was the only girl-  we  would laugh at me sliding down and getting my pink pants, white blouse, and patten leather shoes all dirty. Then, he would play the reel in reverse so we could watch us go back up the hill and get clean again!!

To Auntie Carol and the family - while the loss of Uncle Bob was sudden and unexpected, we know it was written in the book of life.  Every step he took was known before he was conceived.  

Bob was one of a kind as a special dad, grandfather and uncle.  He will be missed by all of us.

Hey Carol,
Chris called and told me of Bob's passing.  He was always so fit and active that it's hard to think of him as having passed away.  We always used to joke that Bob always looked so good, and hardly looked like he aged at all (unlike the rest of us).  I guess that was due to his great Bohemian genes as well as keeping himself active.  

He was so good at fixing and beautifying things.  I think that the song 'It's so nice to have a man around the house" was written for the likes of the Bobs in the world.

I bet God was very tempted over the years to call Bob 'home' so that Bob could be on heaven's fixing and beautifying committee.  Also, His 'chauffering committee' since he knew of Bob's super human ability to drive to the Carolinas with only pee breaks, if that.  Such a handy guy, and with such a winning smile.  What a catch!  

I would not be surprised if Bob struck a deal with God whose terms were : 1)to wait until Spring when he could leave you a nice patch of garden to console you over the next few months; and 2) to let him pass away peacefully napping on his comfy sofa with you nearby.  Bob always was one for a good deal, and he sure got one. 

I know you will miss him, as will so many other people. And as you grieve his loss I hope you will also celebrate his very full life.  He definitely left this earth a better place than when he came here 78 years ago. I will always remember how nice he was to Tony and his wonderful smile.



Farewell to a good friend and golf companion.

My heart breaks for you, Carol.  It was surreal to read news of your husband's passing one minute ago when I read Carl's email to our St. Mel friends.  As you know, my husband, Stuart Unger, died May 3.   Maybe this thought that I hold onto is the same thought that you hold onto:  Marrying a man I deeply loved who felt the same way about me was one of the greatest blessings in my life.  May Bob's soul rest in peace and you find meaning and satisfaction in the next chapter of your life.
