Robert B. Bayer, Sr.Of Arlington HeightsRobert B. Bayer was born on January 9, 1940 in Chicago to Theodore and Josephine (nee Podrazik) Bayer. He died peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.Robert worked as an office manager for Chemcut Corp. in Elk Grove Village for most of his career. He was a long time member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Throughout his life Robert enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his nine grandchildren. His family, friends and all of those who touched his life will dearly remember him. Robert is survived by his spouse of 55 years, Margaret (nee Muth) whom he married May 13, 1961 in Chicago; his children Steven (Marzena) Bayer, Sharon (Chris) Dardanes, Robert (Christine) Bayer, Jr., and Brian (Allison) Bayer; his nine grandchildren, Madeline, Julianne, Evan and Casey Dardanes, Arley and Delaney Bayer, Graham, Lilianna and Landon Bayer; brother, Eugene (Gloria) Bayer; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Visitation Friday, February 26, 2016 from 8:30 am until time of 10:20 am prayers at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights followed by 11:00 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell, Arlington Heights.
