Robert W Stenstrom

Robert W. Stenstrom, 91, was born May 25, 1921 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and passed away peacefully, April 14, 2013 in Inverness, Illinois. He was the cherished husband of the late Evelyn Stenstrom, nee Dorff; beloved brother of Mary Lou Hansen of Inverness, Illinois; loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. Upon graduating from Lake View High School in Chicago, Illinois, Bob joined the United States Army-Air Corps. He served with the 44th Bomber Group during World War II, and once parachuted behind enemy lines. After faithfully serving his country, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Dorff, May1949, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Chicago. Bob then enjoyed a thirty plus year career as a buyer for Oscar Mayer Foods. Aunt Evie and Uncle Bob graciously hosted tons of houseguests from the 1950's until the 1990's, and they will be loved and missed by all.
