Rosemarie Duffy

of Arlington Heights

Rosemarie Duffy, née Livorsi of Arlington Heights, age 95. Rosemarie was born May 5, 1926, in Chicago, the daughter of Michael and Mary (née Twohill) Livorsi. She graduated from Steinmetz High School and shortly after met and married Robert T. Duffy. They had seven children, and were married 54 years until his death in 2004. Rosemarie and Bob were devoted members of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Parish, where she was an early leader of the OLW Women’s Club, and, with her husband, founded the OLW PADS program. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Denis, and daughter, Mary. She is survived by her children, Robert (Nancy) Duffy of Hillsborough, New Jersey, daughter-in-law Georgianne Duffy (wife of the late Denis) of Arlington Heights, Kathy (Robert) Amberg of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, son-in-law Bruce Haneberg (husband of the late Mary) of Chicago, Michael (Barbara) Duffy of Orland Park, Eileen Whited of Palatine, and John (Annemarie) Duffy of Oak Park. Rosemarie is also survived by her grandchildren, Meg and Patrick Duffy, Matthew and Sara Duffy, Rob and Katie Thoresen, Sam and Molly Haneberg, Scott, Annie, Erin and Tim Duffy, Bridget and Dan Whited, Jack and Colleen Duffy, and great-grandchildren Teddy and Autumn, sister-in-law, Nelda Livorsi, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. A celebration of Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 434 W. Park Street, Arlington Heights. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.
