Ruth E. Bauer

Ruth E Bauer was born 91 years ago in Engadine, Michigan to Edward and Emilie (Stroschein) Matschinske. She died January 17, 2022 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, after a long hard battle with dementia. She was cared for at home by her sons for 5 years until moving to The Lutheran Home 6 months ago.

Ruth was active in church activities at Bethany Lutheran Church. In earlier years she enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and being a great mother. She enjoyed visiting her dear neighbor and friend Maria. Ruth was a nurse with many different positions at Edgewater Hospital, taking off work to raise her sons . She was a natural and wonderful caregiver to her father Edward, brother Albert and husband Nicklos. We her sons are grateful for the integrity and kindness that she instilled in us.

Ruth is survived by her sons Thomas (Vesna) Gilchrist , Daniel (Sharon) Bauer and Aaron Bauer, her sisters Linda Schwarm, Evelyn Milani and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Nicklos Bauer; her brother Albert, and her parents.

The family thanks The Lutheran Home for their kindness and support. Rainbow Hospice was supportive.
