Ruth Vera Petersen

Of Schaumburg, formerly of Arlington Heights and Glenview 

Ruth V. Petersen, 102, was born in Chicago to Charles and Carrie (nee Torgersen) Thompson. She died Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Schaumburg.

She was the retired secretary of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenview.   

Ruth is survived by her children, Sheila (Dan) Wertz, Janice (the late Carl) Christiansen; grandchildren, Jonna (Joe) Chmeleck, Jason (Nicole) Christiansen, Beth (Carl) Abraham, and Meredith (Jim) Teuber; and nine great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Petersen, Jr. and by her parents. 

Visitation from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service, 11:00 am, Monday, May 7, 2018 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL  60004.   Interment is at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago.
