

Sara worked as a seamstress in Chiccago for O'Brien Brothers. Sara loved sewing - it was her hobby as well as her livelihood. She enjoyed making her own clothes. She made her daughter-in-law's, Gloria, wedding dress. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all.
Sara is survived by her children, Angelo (Gloria) Rivera and Joe (Lori) Rivera; her grandchildren, Andrea (Joseph) Cartwright and Adam (Melisa) Rivera; her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Norah Cartwright; and some 30+ nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Ramon Rivera; father, Francisco Medina; mother, Antonia (nee Rosa) Medina; her son, Ramon, Jr, and her six brothers and sisters. Sara was loved and adored by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will occur at St. Rosalie Catholic Parish, 6750 West Montrose Avenue, Harwood Heights, IL 60706, on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10 am - 11:00 am, followed by the mass at 11 am. Cemetery service will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, 3100 Thatcher Ave, River Grove, IL. Guests attending services are requested to dress in in your favorite spring colors. Please no black.
