Sarah Haug, 61, passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle against cancer on September 11, 2022. She was born on May 11, 1961, to Diane (Blackburn) and Richard Lanigan in Evanston, IL.

Sarah was raised in Arlington Heights, IL where she graduated from Arlington High School in 1979. She graduated from Robert Morris College in 1979. Residing in Hoffman Estates, she worked as an administrative secretary. The most important goal in her life was to be a great mother. In addition to achieving that goal with her two sons, she most recently welcomed the joy of her life, her first grandson, Edward Haug.

Sarah was a fantastic cook and loved to entertain family & friends. She enjoyed bowling, hiking, sewing, participating in triathlons, and loved animals! She was a friend to all who knew her with her kind heart, sparkling blue eyes, and joyful sense of humor.

Sarah is survived by loving sons, Ryan Haug, Eric (Ana) Haug; Cherished Grandson Edward Haug; parents Diane Lanigan and Richard Lanigan; Siblings Rachel (Wayne) Hogreve, James Lanigan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sarah is preceded in death by her brother Gregory Lanigan.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 1:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be private.
