Of Chicago, formerly Buffalo Grove.
Shane Michael Madigan was born on September 23, 2003, in Wichita, KS to Patrick T. and Mary Anne (nee Lamb) Madigan. He died on June 2, 2023. Shane was adopted through the Cradle Society, and we brought him home when he was 1 day old. If you ever wanted to know an Alpha male, Shane fit the bill. He protected those smaller than him, and enjoyed talking to any manner of person who would wish to have a conversation with him. People always thought he was much older than he was because he spoke so well. One of his school staff from CALO told me that Shane was the most genuine person he had ever met. He had a big heart, one that was both enthusiastic and determined. When it came to dedication to being oneself, Shane took pride in his heritage. He was ½ American Indian (Yankton Sioux), and ½ Cowboy. He always wanted to meet the people of this tribe, even hoping to win the lottery to improve their housing and water supply.
Over the years Shane picked up many hobbies including in-line skating, BMX Biking, Skateboarding, Boxing (like his grandfather), and weightlifting. Shane was a natural athlete who would rather be outdoors than indoors and spent as much of his time as possible on his bike heading to somewhere. When he was not busy with one of his more physical hobbies, he would spend countless hours sifting through artists and albums creating a taste for music that was unique to his style. Shane’s taste for deathcore and metalcore, meant going to concerts and decorating his room with poster of many artists including his favorite group Acacia Strain. He also liked animals as he had some 12 different pets over the years, and his dearest ones being two dogs: Fluffy (12 years old) and Jasper the German Shepherd (1.5 years old) who will miss the roughhousing time outside with Shane.
Shane is survived by his parents Patrick T. and Mary Anne Madigan; his brothers Patrick B. and Keenan T. Madigan; he is also survived by several aunts, uncles as well as many cousins.
