Sharon was a nurse for 30 years in various hospitals. In 1990, she switched careers, working for Schering-Plough as a pharmaceutical representative for 10 years. After her retirement in 2000, Sharon expanded her volunteering efforts to include Catholic Charities and St. Joseph Home for the Poor in Palatine, Illinois. She then began concentrating on her passion for ministry work at St. Edna's Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, where she was a member for 50 years. Sharon loved her ministry work and participated in many of them including the Parish Improvement Project which selected the sculptor from Italy who used computerized technology to create the life-size sculpture of the Holy Family that stands today in the Narthex of St. Edna's. She served in the Gardening for God, Sacristan and Eucharistic Ministries and Care Ministry, bringing the Body of Christ to the shut-ins of the Parish. The Ministry she loved the most was the Bereavement Ministry where Sharon supported the planning of funeral masses for the relatives of the deceased. She also participated in Bible Study with a group of parishioners who shared the same Christian values. Sharon continued as a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister until her health prevented her church attendance.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ronald W. Belmonte, her twin daughters Mary (Mark) Lens and Marlena (Matthew) O'Connor, and her twin grandchildren Joseph and Julia Lens, her siblings Gayle (Ken) Wartko, Tom (Lindy) Conter, (Maureen) Conter and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
