Sherri Eigenbrode

Sherri Eigenbrode was born April 19, 1947 in Waynesboro, PA to Arthur E. and Wanetta J. (nee Cromwell) Short." She died March 22, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.Sherri grew up in Waynesboro, PA, and graduated from the local High School in 1965." She then achieved her bachelor degree from Shippensburg State College in 1969." She and her husband Bill were married July 28, 1967 in The Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. In 1969 they moved to Chicago where they have made their home ever since." Sherri"s real devotion was to her husband, family and many friends that she dearly loved." Sherri was a teacher at Euclid School for many years and before that, Maryville Academy." After retirement she continued to substitute teach at Euclid, while also enjoying the bridge game and luncheon with her bridge group." Sherri was an avid traveler and had an appreciation for the Chicago Art museums and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.Sherri is survived by her husband Bill Eigenbrode; her children Kristine N. (Nicole DeRosa) Eigenbrode of Lutz, FL and Jonathan C. (Dawn Rogan) Eigenbrode of Chicago, welcomed into our family are Heather Lyle of Simi Valley, CA and Benjamin Braun of Paris France; her loving sister Susan R. (nee Short) Wachter of Palm Harbor, FL; and by her four legged family member Maddie.Sherri is preceded in death by her parents and her very dear sister in law Barale (nee Eigenbrode) Royer.Visitation Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 12:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 4:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights."
