

Sidsel Tsuneta (Balke), passed peacefully on Friday, May 23rd in Buffalo Grove, IL. Born in Kirkenes, Norway in 1924, she grew up there and survived Nazi occupation." She moved to Oslo and became a preschool teacher, and then her adventurous spirit brought her across the ocean and to Chicago, IL." She married and settled in Morton Grove and her latter years in Arlington Heights, IL. She was an Activities Therapist at Chicago Reed Mental Health Center for many years and an outstanding member of the Norwegian community." Loving mother of Irene Tsuneta (Katherine Harris), Nina Brottman (Lee), Lise Schoneberg (Martin), and Thomas Tsuneta (Carolyn), and devoted grandmother of Jason Graham, Christopher and Erik Tsuneta, Natalie and Adam Brottman, and Brendan Schoneberg, great-grandmother of Harvey, Evers and Mastin.." Preceded in death by husband, Nadao, siblings Leif (Eva), Turid and Ketil (Ebba) Balke. Fond Aunt of many and dear friend to many more. Visitation is on Wednesday, May 28th 3 pm to 7 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights. Eulogy service to follow immediately at 7 pm.
