

Stanley Walter Jachec, 87 of Arlington Heights was born January 10, 1927 in Chicago to the late Anton and Mary Jachec and passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He served in World War II in the army as an MP and Marksman. He was employed as a structural engineer with several local firms; J Emil Anderson, O’Neill Construction and Otis & Associates. He is best known as a longtime part owner of Honey Hill Beach / Sunny Hill Beach in Wauconda. Stanley was the original designer of the Super J Slide. Generations of Chicagoans knew him from the beach as the tough but firm security supervisor with the pipe. Stanley graduated from St. James Parochial School and went on to Steinmetz High School and graduated in 1945. After high school Stanley entered the Army and after serving his country he went to University of Illinois and received a degree in Engineering. Stanley was the beloved husband for 57 years of Julia Anne Jachec nee Madden; loving father of Mary Ellen Jachec, MD Kathleen (Dennis) James, Kevin (Nancy) Jachec, Michael (Kathy Snyder) Jachec MD and Patricia (Douglas) Hasselo; proud grandfather of Lauren (Jared), Lindsey, Caroline, Katie, Maggie, Emily, Nicole, Taylor, Jim, Joe, Jack, Thomas, Ryan, Mark; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews; caring brother of Anthony (Connie) Jachec, late Edward (late Florence) Jachec, late Helen (late Eugene) Grabowski, and the late Henry (Dolores) Jachec. Visitation Monday, September 8, 2014, 4-9 pm at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the funeral home at 10:15 am processing to St. James Catholic Church for a funeral mass at 11:00 am. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
