

Stanley K. Rogersof St. Charles formerly of Arlington HeightsStanley K. Rogers was born on May 27, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Stanley and Mary (nee Dulka) Rogalinski. He died peaceably on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the age of 88 in St. Charles, IL.Stan served in the United States Navy immediately following the end of World War ll. Over 39 years he worked in a number of hands-on and leadership roles for IBM in various cities, including Racine, WI, Rochester, MN and finally retiring in 1987 in Chicago. After retirement Stan launched his own business as "Dr. Desktop" helping people with their computer challenges of all kinds and sizes. He was a long-time member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, where he was a lector for many years. He also led small groups along with his wife as part of the Marriage Encounter ministry and finally delivered communion to home bound parishioners as a Eucharistic Minister.Stan had many interests over his long life, actively enjoying working with his hands on home projects, bowling, camping, fishing, square dancing, Bingo calling, reading, bread-baking, sausage-making and all-season outdoor grilling. As life slowed him down, he still enjoyed a good game of cribbage with his brother and other family members, taking his bride out to eat, traveling and spending time with his children and their growing families around the country.. Stan is survived by his beloved spouse Dorothy (nee Steiner, whom he married over 65 years ago on October 14, 1950 in Racine, WI; children, Ken (Robin) Rogers, Tom Rogers, Mary (Mark) Lancaster, Paul (Susan) Rogers, and Stanley (Wendy) Rogalinski; grandchildren, David Rogers, Amanda Rogers, Andrew Rogers, Jaime Rogers, Sarah (Stephen) Krizan, Becky (Eric Pluskowski) Rogers, Gabriel (Jennifer) Lancaster, Abigail Lancaster, Jordann (Ryan) Clark, Danielle (Michael) McCauley, Brittany (Chris) Gaitten, Michael Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Alexandra Rogalinski, and Nikolai Rogalinski; great-grandchildren, Rayna, Justin, Maddie, George, Denning, Mikey, Madison, Camden, Kyleigh, and Emma; brother, Robert (Kay) Rogalinski; sister-in-law, Joan Steiner: and many nieces, nephews and friends. Among those welcoming him to heaven are his parents, sister, Susan Patzke and daughter-in-law, Debby Rogers. Stan was a unique, tender and remarkable man who will be greatly missed by so many. Thanks to his life-long faith, we know that we will see him again greeting us in heaven, (probably working security detail with St. Peter at the gate.) Visitation Friday, January 15, 2016 from 9:00 am until Prayers at 10:15 am at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004 proceeding to St. James Catholic Church for a 11:00 am Funeral Mass. Interment is private.
