Steven W. Hahn, 69, of Elgin died on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was born September 8, 1951 in Waukegan, IL to Fredrick W. and Helen G. (Ankele) Hahn. He is survived by siblings, John E. (Cathy) Hahn of Algonquin; Cynthia L. Hahn, of Colorado Springs, CO; and Fredrick W. (Deborah) Hahn of Springfield, IL; as well as aunts, several cousins, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pamela S. Lohan; and brother, Thomas F. Hahn.
Steve was a master tool & die maker, plant manager, and mentor and friend to many at Schultes Precision Manufacturing for nearly 45 years. He loved motor sports, bowling, (referred to as “the secret weapon”, by his bowling team), and golf. Sunny days found him on one of his Harleys or one of his many Mustangs, road tripping with friends like Jeff and JD, Vito and Marybeth, with destinations as varied as Daytona, Elkhart Lake, Sturgis, or an NHRA drag race. As his mom aged, Steve stepped in and devoted much of his time to her, taking her out for meals, shopping, or sightseeing, as well as simply being with her.
No services are planned at this time. A gathering for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
