She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Raul and Lucille Gawrys (nee Wolman). Susan’s survivors include her sister Debra (Richard) Marks and brother Raul Gawrys Jr.; and nephews, David (Erika) Marks and Robert (Taylor) Marks.
Susan enjoyed working and had positions at NutraSweet, GTE, and Clearbrook. She loved spending time with family and friends, bowling, coloring, dancing, cruising, and, of course, having pasta. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Parish, 831 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on October 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass starting at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
