Susan Sharp MontgomeryOf Arlington HeightsSusan Sharp Montgomery was born on April 3, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama to Cleveland and Joanna (nee LaRue) Sharp. She died Monday, August 24, 2015 at JourneyCare in Barrington.Susan worked as a Social Worker for State of Alabama. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Susan loved to dance, to travel around the World, study art and architecture, and to play Bridge with her girlfriends at Church Creek Assisted Living in Arlington Heights. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandsons, and was loved by all. Susan is survived by her children, James (Hafife ) Montgomery, Joanna (Brian) Metzger, Catherine (J Miles) Maxwell and Lucinda (Dan Lubin) Montgomery; grandsons, Billy, Teddy, Sammy, and Charlie Metzger, J Maxwell, Simon Montgomery, Robert Maxwell and Ben Montgomery; sister, Joanna (Arthur) Adams-Word; nephews, Curt (Eddie Chou) Adams and Martin (Amy) Adams. She was preceded in death by her spouse Roy Montgomery; and her parents. Memorial Visitation Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with an 7:30 pm Memorial Service at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights IL 60004. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, 75 Remittance Drive, Suite #1907, Chicago, IL 60675-1907.
