

Terence "Terry" G. Carter, aged 95, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in Arlington Heights, IL. Born on May 15, 1929, in Wembley, England, Terry's life was one marked by dedication, curiosity, and a deep love for his family, friends and the natural world.
Terry was the loving husband of 62 years to Eileen M. Carter, a partnership that stood as a testament to unwavering commitment and mutual respect. Terry was the cherished son of the late Violet and George Dellow Carter, a lineage that instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. As a caring father, he leaves behind his devoted son, Mark Jeffrey Carter, and carries with him the memory of his late son, Christopher Scott Carter. Terry was also the fond brother of Pauline (the late Kenneth) LeBeau, with whom he shared countless cherished memories.
In his professional life, Terry was known as a skilled and meticulous tool and dye maker at ITW Fastex Plastic fabrication company. His craftsmanship and reliability made him a respected figure in his field, where he not only contributed to his company's success but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among his colleagues.
Outside of work, Terry's passion for the natural world was evident through his active membership in the Illinois Audubon Society Local Chapter. He was particularly involved in conservation projects that tagged birds with bands or other markers to identify and track them, contributing valuable data to the study of avian movements and behaviors. This work was not only a hobby but a reflection of Terry's commitment to environmental stewardship.
An adventurous spirit, Terry's love for travel took him to destinations across the globe. He was a perennial visitor to his homeland of England, where he would reconnect with his roots and share stories of his journeys. These trips were a source of joy for Terry, as they combined his love for his family with his passion for exploration.
Terry was also a self-proclaimed foodie, always eager to indulge in new food experiences. He had a deep curiosity about different food cultures and cooking methods, which he eagerly explored through both travel and culinary experimentation at home. His kitchen was a place of creativity and discovery, much to the delight of his family and friends.
In his passing, Terry leaves behind a legacy of love, curiosity, and a commitment to the betterment of his community. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose and passion. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Terry’s honor can be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
A memorial visitation for Terry will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, followed by a memorial service starting at 12:00 PM.
