Theresa Ann Kazak died Wednesday July 4, 2018, in Arlington Heights following a battle with cancer. She was 72 years old.

A long-time member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, Theresa (who also went by Terri) spent her life as a full-time homemaker and mom. Through the years, she ventured into the work-world several times, holding various administrative assistant positions. She was last employed with family friend Robert Woyner as a receptionist for Mr. Woyner’s automotive repair shop.

Theresa found enjoyment watching old television shows and soap operas, as well as spending time with close friends and relatives. She especially loved going with friends and family to the casino. But above all, Theresa loved to spend time with her son’s and daughter’s families, especially her four grandchildren, who range in age from 5 to 11.

Theresa was born on January 31, 1946 in Hammond, LA to John and Martha (nee Catalanatto) Notariano.

She is survived by her children, David R. (Kristin Murphy) Kazak and Michelle L. (Leonard Zaporowski) Kazak; grandchildren, Michael Kazak, Spencer Kazak, Isabella Kazak and Eleanor Zaporowski; sister, Gloria (George) Ramirez; sister-in-law, Fran Notariano; brother-in-law, William Towell; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Robert (Linda) Woyner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gregory Kazak, her parents, and her siblings, Lucille Cox, Marie Kurek, Joseph Notariano and Margaret "Midge" Towell.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation 9:00 am, Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 until the 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Burial will be 1:30 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
