Thomas H. Diamond

Thomas Harold Diamond, 87, was born December 27, 1935, in Crystal Lake, IL to Harold andLucille (nee Reuss) Diamond. He died Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home surrounded byhis loving family after battling meningioma and pancreatic cancer.

After graduating from Lane Tech High School, Tom enlisted in the army and served in defense of Korea as a helicopter mechanic. Once honorably discharged, he spent 30 years at Xerox while also working part time at Sears Parts Department for 20 years. He was married to his love, Roberta, for 57 years.

Over the years, Tom enjoyed participating in the Chain O’Lakes Boat Club, traveling throughout the country with his family on extended summer vacations, watching football (Go Bears!), fishing with his buddies especially in remote locations in Canada and Wisconsin, and making many memories with his loving wife on numerous trips to Hawaii. During his retirement, he worked as an usher for 20 years at the Rosemont Theater for various events and at the Allstate Arena for Chicago Wolves hockey games and DePaul Blue Demons basketball games. Tom enjoyed woodworking and most recently being involved with the Des Plaines American Legion Post 36. He was a 3rd Degree honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Most important to him was his family. He is survived by his loving wife Roberta (neeDamratowski); devoted children, Donna Diamond (Mark Kinzle), and Diane (William) Berry; andadoring grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Please join us on Saturday, December 16, 2023 as we celebrate Tom’s life. Visitation will beat St. Edna's Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment is private.
