Thomas was raised in West Monroe, LA and he spent the last 58 years in Rolling Meadows and worked at Motorola for over 30 years. He loved sports, especially baseball. Tom was a diehard fan of the LSU Tigers and LA Dodgers. He served in the US Army from 1959-1963.
He was a true southern gentleman, an avid fisherman, gardener, and a great storyteller.
Thomas is survived by his children, Brian (Julianne) Head, Christine (David) Fleischacker, and Kevin (Jill) Head; grandchildren, Henry (Rita), Thomas, Emma, John, and Mary Fleischacker, James, Elizabeth, and Gracyn Head; great-grandchild, Jasper; sister, Joann; brother and sister in-law, Lee and Bridget Hettinger; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann Head; his parents; and his brothers, Curtis, Truman, and James.
Family will be receiving guests on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A funeral mass will take place the following day on Monday, August 10, 2025 beginning at 10:30 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1820 Church Rd, Aurora, IL 60505. Interment will take place immediately following mass at Marywood Cemetery, which is directly behind the church.
