

Born in Tianjin, China, he moved to the United States in 2000 to reunite with his family after a distinguished 43-year career with SINOPEC. Tianji’s work as an engineer and manager earned him deep respect within his field, and he was widely published, known for his insightful contributions to engineering.
Tianji and his wife, Huinong Chen, shared over 64 years of marriage, a partnership filled with love and devotion. He was also a dedicated father to his daughters and a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren, always active in their lives. An avid athlete, Tianji excelled in soccer, basketball, and swimming. Beyond his career and family, he found joy in writing poetry, calligraphy, and reading.
Tianji is survived by his wife, Huinong Chen; his daughters, Ruth Miao and Mary Wei Weerts (Douglas); his grandchildren, Naixin Zhang, Rick Weerts, and Liliya Trotter (Jonathan).
Tianji was preceded in death by his parents Chunrong Miao and Shuzhen Li Miao, brothers and sisters, Tiandong Miao, Tianqi Miao, Tianjie Miao, Tianzhi Miao, Tianlin Miao, whose memory he held close throughout his life.
Tianji's legacy of love, wisdom, and dedication lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
